In the 10 amazing months since we launched Mimo, you, our users, have provided an amazing amount of feedback. You've told us what you've liked, and told us where there were issues. You've shown us which little touches make you smile, as well as which features can be annoying. We've listened to your feedback, and today we are proud to announce the launch of our new and much improved apps for both iOS and Android.

The first thing that you'll notice when you fire up your shiny new app is that we've completely changed how you manage your account.

Welcome to Mimo

The first time you see this, go ahead and create an account. If you're already a Mimo user, don't worry, everything will still be set up the way you had it.

This way, you can log into your account from any phone and check on your little ones.

Hi Everyone,

We wanted to get a quick update to you on the current state of the Mimo Lilypad.

We're in the process of overhauling both the firmware and electronics of our Lilypads. We're very excited about this, as doing so will mean improved stability and connectivity, enhanced range, and faster data processing.

As we've been undergoing this upgrade, we've found that some of our current Lilypads have been experiencing connectivity issues during initial setup, making it difficult to connect to home routers in a small number of cases. If you've recently purchased a Mimo, and you haven't been able to connect your Lilypad, please don't hesitate to give us a call, and we'll be happy to troubleshoot, or send you a new Lilypad.

10/3 Update: Our latest version of the Mimo app—which fixes the iOS 8 notifications issue—is now available for download. The app now asks new users if you'd like to receive push notifications, which ensures notifications will be turned on. If you have problems, please contact us!

Update: Our new app version is live in the app store. This fixes the iOS8 welcome flow crash. One additional note: new users will have bugs with their notifications until our next app version goes live (another 4-7 days).

Apple released its iOS8 update yesterday (9/17). Upon testing Mimo with the new iOS, we diagnosed a couple of bugs and wanted to get a note, give you the plan to resolution, and also provide a few key steps for troubleshooting.   • First and foremost: if you have an iPhone 4S, we recommend that you do not download iOS8 quite yet. Reports say the new iOS is not optimized for any phones other than 5, 5s and the upcoming 6.

alt Thank you to everyone who calls or emails us with feedback—it's been invaluable at helping us fix bugs over the last few weeks! While we've made some product improvements over the last several weeks, we still have much to do. Here's our focus for this week:

Audio: There are two parts to audio, static and intermittent clipping that happens every 3 seconds or so. We've determined what the bug is and are working on a fairly major software overhaul for it, so stay tuned (literally)—we know that the current audio quality is far from ideal, and we're working hard to create a crystal clear audio stream. We can't promise a due date on this piece, as we don't want to push the update without extensive testing, but we have a team of people working to get this fixed ASAP.

Android: You have hopefully noticed some small to moderate Android update over the last few weeks. These, however, are insufficient, as we're about 60% done with a massive Android overhaul that basically has us re-writing the entire app. This will fix setup, event logging, audio, and several user flow and user experience bugs that we've found. alt Thursday 2/27 3pm - Update: We know that people are still experiencing issues with the BRU site regarding their pre-orders. They are trying to get everyone taken care of, and the issue right now is getting the starter kit and 6-12 month kimono refill kit back up on their website, which should happen in the next few days (which we know is very, very frustrating). Again, if you have questions, please email or call (support@mimobaby.com; 877.415.MIMO) and we will work with you to resolve your problem. We really, really want everyone to get their Mimo; our sincere apologies that this has been such a rocky road.

In other news, there are new apps to download for both iOS and Android, so when you do receive your Mimo, it will be an improved product.

alt Thursday, 4pm - Update: We are working with the fantastic team at Babies 'R' Us to do everything we can to resolve the last couple shipping issues and to update their web pages (they've been terrific, which is very much appreciated by everyone on our team). Every one who placed a pre-order with BRU should be getting updated order information in the next day or so, so please watch your email. Wednesday, 4pm - UPDATE: we just talked with Babies 'R' Us, and they have received all our shipments. We know that some pre-orders are shipping out, which is fantastic, and hopefully everyone who pre-ordered will receive shipment confirmation in the next day or so. The Mimo product pages still aren't up on www.babiesrus.com, but we are working on resolving that as quickly as we can. Thank you for your patience!
