Welcome to the Mimo blog

Engage, learn
and share

One of the things we love most about data is when you have the ability to share it. So naturally, this is one of the key features of the Mimo Smart Monitor. Designed to allow parents to share their baby’s data and insights with all of his or her loving caregivers – The Mimo app helps everyone caring for baby stay on the same page.

So what does sharing a Mimo mean?

  1. You can allow authorized users to access your baby’s Turtle data.
  2. Choose the authorized users that can access to your baby’s Mimo.
  3. To ensure data stays in the right hands, only the owner of the Turtle (the phone on which the Turtle was first setup) can share the turtle.
    • This means that if you are not the owner and try to share the Turtle, you will receive an error.
    • Please note that the link you send to share your turtle expires after 24 hours (though you can always create a new one).
  4. Share the Turtle with as many people as you would like.

Ready to Share? Here are instructions for iOS or Android:

For iOS

  1. Make sure the person you would like to access your turtle

In the 10 amazing months since we launched Mimo, you, our users, have provided an amazing amount of feedback. You've told us what you've liked, and told us where there were issues. You've shown us which little touches make you smile, as well as which features can be annoying. We've listened to your feedback, and today we are proud to announce the launch of our new, and much improved apps for both iOS and Android.

Visit the App Store or Google Play Store to get the newest versions.

Accounts & Login

The first thing that you'll notice when you fire up your shiny new app is that we've completely changed how you manage your account.

The first time you see this, go ahead and create an account. If you're already a Mimo user, don't worry, everything will still be set up the way you had it.

This way, you can log into your account from any phone and check on your little ones.

Streamlined Monitoring Screen

The looks of the real-time monitoring screen have also been refreshed, but the big change here is how things work behind the scenes.

We've done a lot of work to enhance our systems and

My daughter Sadie is a peanut. So is her Mom, and admittedly, her Dad kinda is too. Sadie's always been in the sub-20th percentile for weight, and as she graduated from her first 3 months, she started dropping in height percentile as well. Neither her Mom nor I were surprised, based on her genes.

She still has no hair. Me, I'm bragging.

Her being rather challenged in the weight and height department carries with it a wonderful benefit (besides affording her an unforgiving cuteness): she's still able to fit into her 6-12 month Mimo kimonos. As I've mentioned before, Sadie has been one of our beta babies here at Mimo, so she's helped us test out some larger kimonos (for inquiring minds, stay tuned!), but she can still squeeze into the 6-12s. And last night, that's all we had.

Yesterday morning, Sadie came down with a moderate fever. It was followed by a rash and a little bit of coughing that didn't stick around. When the fever didn't subside on its own, we gave her some tylenol, which sort of helped. Before bed, her fever had returned, and my wife and I were slightly concerned. Based on all of her

Hi Everyone,

We wanted to get a quick update to you on the current state of the Mimo Lilypad.

We're in the process of overhauling both the firmware and electronics of our Lilypads. We're very excited about this, as doing so will mean improved stability and connectivity, enhanced range, and faster data processing.

As we've been undergoing this upgrade, we've found that some of our current Lilypads have been experiencing connectivity issues during initial setup, making it difficult to connect to home routers in a small number of cases. If you've recently purchased a Mimo, and you haven't been able to connect your Lilypad, please don't hesitate to give us a call, and we'll be happy to troubleshoot, or send you a new Lilypad.

As always, we're here to help: 1.877.415.6466 or [email protected].

Thanks!
Mike

10/3 Update: Our latest version of the Mimo app--which fixes the iOS 8 notifications issue--is now available for download. The app now asks new users if you'd like to receive push notifications, which ensures notifications will be turned on. If you have problems, please contact us!

Update: Our new app version is live in the app store. This fixes the iOS8 welcome flow crash. One additional note: new users will have bugs with their notifications until our next app version goes live (another 4-7 days).

Apple released its iOS8 update yesterday (9/17). Upon testing Mimo with the new iOS, we diagnosed a couple of bugs and wanted to get a note, give you the plan to resolution, and also provide a few key steps for troubleshooting. As always, if you have questions or need help, please don’t hesitate to call us at 877.415.6466 or email at [email protected].

  • First and foremost: if you have an iPhone 4S, we recommend that you do not download iOS8 quite yet. Reports say the new iOS is not optimized for any phones other than 5, 5s and the upcoming 6.
  • If you are an existing Mimo user and
