Selecting the right encryption type during Lilypad setup (iOS only)

The Mimo uses your home’s WiFi to connect your Lilypad to your phone, so ensuring your Lilypad is properly talking to your router is critical for a healthy, happy Mimo.

When you’re starting to set up your Lilypad, you’ll be asked for your WiFi’s password. This gives the Lilypad what it needs to connect to your router. On that screen, you’ll see a code in parentheses next to the SSID (also known as your WiFi name), referring to the security protocol of your router.

If you’re not sure what kind of password you have for your WiFi, see this troubleshooting article about how to determine what encryption type your WiFi network is using.

If you do know (a majority of networks use WPA2), tap on your network name displayed on the Lilypad setup screen, and select your router’s encryption type. The four options are:

  • WPA2
  • WPA
  • WEP (WEP128)
  • WEP64
