When you setup your Lilypad, the Mimo app will ask you for your WiFi network password for configuration purposes. When it does so, you’ll see the WiFi network name (also known as an SSID) you’re connecting to, the encryption type of that network, and an area into which you enter your password for that network.
A few tips and tricks for password, encryption types, and SSIDs:
Passwords & encryption types
- The Lilypad best connects to WiFi networks with alphanumeric passwords - i.e., ones without special characters. This includes $, %, -, ~, ., ?, etc.
- If your WiFi password has any of these characters in it, we ask that you remove them, as this can cause trouble with the Lilypad when connecting. (Don’t know how to change your WiFi password? No worries! See this article for tips.)
- Most routers are set to WPA2 encryption types, which is the default setting of the Mimo setup process.
- To change the encryption type of your WiFi network as determined by the Lilypad, tap on the name of your WiFi network on the Lilypad setup screen where it asks you for your password. For more details, see this article.
